Why You Should Choose Our Natural Soaps

by Aaron Faust

As the novel coronavirus pandemic persists, you may be making an effort to wash your hands more frequently. The CDC asserts that washing your hands in hot, soapy water for at least 20 seconds is the most effective way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other illness-causing germs. During this challenging time, it’s more important than ever to keep your hands as clean as possible and avoid touching your face. Since the CDC recommends washing your hands after visiting public spaces or after touching commonly-touched surfaces, you may choose to stock up on your favorite soap and hand sanitizer. If you’re interested in trying natural soaps and bath products, here’s what you need to know about our product line:

Does Natural Soap Kill Viruses?

According to the FDA, you can skip soaps labeled “antibacterial,” as there’s not enough evidence to prove that these products are more effective at preventing illness than other types of soap. In fact, it’s unclear if active ingredients in antibacterial soaps, such as triclocarban, are safe for daily use — so you can feel confident in your decision to steer clear of antibacterial soaps. Soaps made with natural ingredients are just as effective at cleansing your hands as conventionally-made soaps (including their ability to kill viruses such as COVID-19). That’s good news for those who’d like to try handmade soap crafted by our Colorado soap company.

What Makes Our Natural Soap Natural?

Many conventional hand soaps are made with harsh ingredients, such as overpowering artificial fragrances and synthetic sulfates. Sulfates, such as sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), are found in most conventionally-made soaps and shampoos. This surfactant (which is essentially detergent) is highly effective at creating a lather to attract oil and water, but the downside is that this ingredient may strip your skin of its natural oils. You won’t find these agents in our products. We make our soap by mixing lye into plant-based oils, just as people have done for centuries. The lye disappears as it saponifies the oils into soap. We make sure our recipes have extra oil, so some is still left in the bar to moisturize your skin.

Our Gardener’s Citrus Scrub Liquid Soap cuts through excess dirt and oil for the ultimate cleanse.

Which Ingredients Give Our Soaps Their Scent?

Our liquid soaps are available in three enchanting aromas: Cedar Sage, Gardener’s Citrus Scrub, and Lavender Lemon. All three are free of artificial fragrances and derive their scent from a blend of essential oils. If you’d like a broader array of scents, such as Oatmeal Milk & Honey or Eucalyptus Spearmint, explore our line of bath bar soaps. Our bar soap is available in more than 15 aromas, and like our liquid hand soaps, each one is sulfate-free and made with minimally-processed plant oils.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other viruses, frequent handwashing is a must. When you’re on the search for a new go-to cleanser, our natural soaps and bath products may be just what you’re looking for.
